Nextgen Ventures is an investment fund in which Healthcare provider Menzis, De Friesland Health insurer, Foundation Triade (linked to the University Medical Center Groningen) and Noaber Foundation have invested. The goal of the fund is to finance the development and implementation of IT and medtech solutions that offer added value to people, patients and professionals.
NextGen Ventures invests in knowledge-intensive companies that create a change in Healthcare, preferably with innovations with a breakthrough potential, that have passed the idea phase, and which are working on a market position. The fund generally takes a significant minority stake in companies with strong management.
The fund invests a maximum of €1.5 million for every portfolio company. Initial investments amount to a minimum of €100,000 and an average of approximately €400,000. They prefer an investment strategy in which the investments are spread over several investment rounds.
