M-Sense is a German company that has developed a (certified) medical app that supports severe migraine patients in tracking important symptoms. The goal of use is for the patient to discover specific triggers and factors that precede a migraine attack. She or he may then be able to prevent an attack. In addition, the application offers suggestions for interventions to prevent attacks.
A study of over 1,100 users shows that use results in a 33% reduction in headache days within 4 months. The company is aiming for a 50% reduction. The application has now been downloaded over 200,000 times with 52,000 accounts created. The number of monthly users is over 23,000 patients. Of these, 5,300 patients use the app daily. These results should eventually lead to reimbursement by health insurance companies.
The company aims to collaborate with pharma companies to collect so-called Real World Data for them and measure the effectiveness in clinical trials.
