BeterDichtbij is a service concept developed by the Collaborating General Hospitals. The patient can communicate directly with the hospital and the doctors via an app. For example, regarding appointments, results and other questions they may have.
The Koningin Beatrix (SKB) Regional hospital in Winterswijk is developing a new module. This allows the hospital to monitor the patient during the first days following surgery. The patient receives questions about his body temperature (fever?), pain and the healing of the wound.
This information is received by the hospital and included in the patient file. An alert will warn the doctor if there are any abnormalities. Should this be the case, the patient will be invited to visit the hospital for an appointment. This can be earlier than originally planned.
Once the module has been developed and validated, the other General Hospitals will also be able to offer this service to their patients.
